I love teaching beginners and meditation skeptics by breaking down the myths about meditation (spoiler alert: there is no being “bad” at meditation), teaching specific meditation techniques, and offering strategies for developing a personal practice.

Training for mental health professionals often emphasizes the importance of mindfulness with minimal instruction on what that involves. This workshop builds on my general Meditation 101 workshop to address specific concerns for therapists, such as how to guide clients through specific skills and what meditation strategies may be best for specific client concerns. 

After some brief education and group connection, I facilitate a loving-kindness practice focused on experiences of grief. I recommend having a space for sharing afterwards to connect on what came up and to give and receive compassion about the universal experience of grief, even if the circumstances or experiences may feel different.

I provide brief psychoeducation on inner child work, followed by very gentle movement and breath work before a guided visualization to meet a younger version of self. Depending on group size, there can be discussion and connection after to process what came up and allow people to connect.

Built upon my original Inner Child Healing Workshop, this workshop specifically focuses on the experiences of LGBTQ+ people and the potentially less-than-optimal experiences from childhood where they may not have felt safe to be themselves and needed to hide as a form of self-protection.
